Snowy Winter Portraits; A Female Empowerment Photoshoot

For this photoshoot, the Detroit neighborhood of Poletown became a winter wonderland a bit early, in November. What started out as a request for boudoir photos turned into so much more. From BFF photos to female empowerment portraits, and even a couple of personal branding headshots, we did just about everything!

The photoshoot started out inside the home of Ann-Marie’s friend, Gwen. We did some very cool, low-light, artful nudes (that I will not be sharing online), before moving outside. We took a few shots in a greenhouse, located on the property, and then headed to the park across the street.

The main goals of the session were to get some artistic body positivity shots as well as to capture the love between two best friends who live in different states. I learned upon arriving that Ann-Marie is actually a photographer herself! Once I heard this, I suggested she bring a camera along for a couple branding shots. For the look, Gwen borrowed her grandma’s old fur jackets and even had a thrifted purple velvet Ralph Lauren suit that I am eternally jealous of.
